The Singapore Government’s enterprise developer, Spring Singapore, will spend S$30 million on two programs to woo more tertiary graduate talent to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The Management Associate Partnership (MAP) will operate an 18-month mentoring program for high-growth local SMEs to train graduates, and the Enterprise Internship Program (EIP) will provide funding for shorter-term internships at SMEs for those still studying.

Spring Singapore wants these programs to boost the profile of quality SMEs, who often miss out on the best young talent thanks to flashier offers and career fair marketing by larger corporations. Industry representatives have praised the initiative, saying it will help potential recruits to see the benefits of working for SMEs, such as better recognition of success and more rapid career advancement.
